Why are people who believe abortion is wrong and protested at Notre Dame, being called 'Religious Vigilantes"?

Because if you are not politically correct then you are an extremist. I am proud the Miss California and the graduates of ND spoke their minds. I think the government is trying to force everyone to just accept things and not questions their decisions. We need to question because without defiance then they would bulldoze us over and we would be good robots. As a Navy veteran I salute Miss California and those at ND for not being silent and having a peaceful outcry based on their beliefs.
